In the aluminum extrusion, glass manufacturing, and heavy-duty industrial sectors, a 280°C Heat-Resistant Felt Coating Timing Belt is a critical component for conveying materials that are still cooling. These belts are designed to combine the synchronous precision of a timing belt with the thermal protection of specialized technical felts.

The Core Technology: Felt+ Para-Aramid (Kevlar)

For a 280℃ (536°F) rating, the felt layer is typically a needle-punched blend of high-performance fibers.

  • Para-Aramid (Kevlar) Fiber: This is the primary heat-resistant component. It provides excellent mechanical strength and can withstand continuous temperatures of 250℃ to 280℃ without melting or dripping.
  • Carbonization vs. Melting: Unlike polyester or nylon, Para-aramid fibers do not melt. When they exceed their thermal limit, they slowly carbonize, ensuring no molten plastic sticks to your high-value aluminum profiles or glass.

Advantages

A. Non-Marking Surface

Aluminum profiles are extremely soft when hot. Any contact with hard rubber or plastic will leave “ghost marks” or scratches. The felt coating provides a soft, cushioned interface that preserves the aesthetic finish of the extrusion.

B. Synchronous Accuracy

Unlike flat conveyor belts that can slip when oil or lubricants are present, the timing belt base (typically 14M,T10, AT10, or AT20 pitch) ensures that the movement of the cooling table is perfectly synchronized, preventing “pile-ups” or collisions on the line.

C. Thermal Insulation

The felt acts as a heat sink. It prevents the 280°C heat of the product from reaching the PU base belt and the internal tension cords. This extends the lifespan of the belt core, which would otherwise soften or lose tension at high temperatures.

Application

  • Aluminum Extrusion: Used on the run-out table and initial cooling stages.
  • Glass Tempering: Handling hot glass sheets as they exit the furnace.
  • Automotive Parts: Conveying hot-stamped metal components.
  • Solar Panel Production: Transporting glass substrates through lamination stages.

YONGHANG (Yonghang Transmission Belt Factory) specializes in the thermal vulcanization of these belts. Instead of simple glue, we use a high-temperature bonding process that ensures the Para-aramid felt and the PU base become a single, inseparable unit.
