characteristic
During the production of PU timing belts, the core in the centre must have a groove for the cord. This base belt can be manufactured with the groove on the reverse side, meaning that the groove comes into contact with the silicone coating, thereby achieving a more effective seal.
Silicone surfaces can withstand temperatures of up to 220°C, whilst polyurethane has a maximum operating temperature of 80°C and rubber has a maximum operating temperature of 120°C.
