Q: How to prevent the felt from fluffing?
A: “Fluffing” or pilling is usually caused by intense friction or the fibers being “pulled” by sharp edges of the aluminum profiles. We solve this through three primary methods:
High-Density Needle Punching: Our rollers are manufactured with a higher “punch frequency,” which interlocks the fibers more tightly, making them naturally resistant to shedding.
Surface Resin Coating: We offer a specialized hardened resin treatment. This creates a protective “skin” on the felt that keeps the fibers bonded together without losing heat resistance or scratching the aluminum.
Correct Material Zone Matching: Ensuring you are using PBO in the highest heat zones. If a lower-tier material (like Polyester) is used in a zone that is too hot, the fibers will degrade and fluff prematurely.
Q: Can you produce rollers for specific brands of extrusion presses?
A: Yes, absolutely. With two decades of experience, we provide custom-engineered felt rollers compatible with all major global extrusion press brands, including SMS Group, Danieli, UBE, Mitsubishi, and Presezzi Extrusion.
We can manufacture based on:
OEM Part Numbers: Simply provide the part number from your machine manual.
Custom Specifications: We produce Inner Diameters (ID) from 20mm to 160mm and wall thicknesses from 6mm to 12mm.
Technical Drawings: You can upload your CAD drawings, and our technical team will ensure a 100% precision fit for your specific cooling table rollers.
Q: How long is the typical service life of a PBO roller?
A: The service life of a PBO roller varies depending on the production volume, the weight of the aluminum profiles, and the extrusion speed. Under standard operating conditions (high-output, 24/7 production), a high-density Yonghang PBO roller typically lasts 3 to 6 months.
To maximize longevity, we use a specialized needle-punching process that increases fiber density. You can further extend the service life by:
Applying our proprietary Resin Hardening Treatment to the surface.
Ensuring the rollers are correctly aligned to prevent uneven mechanical wear.
Maintaining a clean environment to prevent metal chips from embedding in the fibers.
