Product Overview & Engineering

In textile carding, the C50 and C51 types are typically flat power transmission belts or specialized “cross-belts” used to drive the cylinders, doffers, or licker-in rollers. Because carding machines operate 24/7 in dusty, high-lint environments, these belts are engineered for extreme stability.

Yonghang Expert Advice:

  1. Tensioning: Type C50/C51 polyamide belts require a specific “Take-up” (initial tensioning). Unlike rubber V-belts, they should be tensioned to a calculated percentage of their length (usually 1.5% to 3%) to ensure the nylon core reaches its optimal elasticity.
  2. Cleaning: Never use harsh solvents. Clean the friction surfaces with a damp cloth or specialized belt cleaners to preserve the rubber’s “grip.”
  3. Pulley Alignment: In carding machines, even a slight misalignment can cause the belt to track into the machine frame, leading to rapid edge wear. Always use a laser alignment tool during installation.
