Haul-Off Belt with transverse/crosswise slots; this design is the key solution to addressing the issues of ‘grip’ and ‘water drainage and heat dissipation’ in extrusion production lines.
These Haul-Off Belt with transverse/crosswise slots are specifically designed for high-performance extrusion lines, with their transverse (cross) grooves precision-machined using CNC technology. The seamless, one-piece vulcanised construction ensures exceptional tensile strength, whilst the lateral grooving optimises contact between the belt and the product surface. These grooves serve as vital drainage and cooling channels, playing a crucial role in traction within high-temperature cable extrusion machines.
| Property | Specifications) |
| Grooving Method | CNC Milled |
| Slot Depth | 2mm – 5mm (depending on the total thickness of the belt) |
| Slot Width | Can be customised to suit the application (Common: 3mm, 5mm) |
| Material | EEPDM, neoprene (CR) or polyurethane (PU) |
| Target | PVExtrusion of PVC/PE pipes, high-temperature cables and rubber strips |
Key Functions of Transverse Slots
Hydroplaning Prevention:
In wet extrusion (such as pipes cooled in water troughs), a water film can easily form between the belt and the pipe. Transverse grooves allow water to drain away rapidly, breaking up the water film and ensuring 100% mechanical grip between the belt and the product.
Reduced Bending Radius:
Crosswise grooves increase the belt’s longitudinal flexibility. This allows heavy-duty belts to smoothly wrap around pulleys with smaller diameters, reducing the operational load on the motor and effectively preventing cracking of the rubber backing.
Heat Dissipation:
When manufacturing high-temperature cables or profiles, the slotting increases the belt’s surface area, allowing heat to be rapidly dissipated through air circulation and preventing the belt from softening or deforming due to overheating.
Shock Absorption:
When the belt comes into contact with uneven areas of the product (such as joints or knots), the slotted structure provides a degree of elastic cushioning, ensuring a smooth, vibration-free traction process.
