PBO Material Seamless Felt belts

Maximum Temperature Resistance: Up to 600°C, withstanding equivalent short-term thermal shocks.

  • Material Properties: Manufactured from 100% PBO (polybenzimidazole) fibers, offering exceptional thermal stability and mechanical strength. Exhibits superior oxidation resistance compared to Nomex and Kevlar.
  • Applications: Specifically designed for aluminum extrusion production lines, suitable for high-temperature discharge sections, cooling beds, and similar areas, effectively eliminating contamination issues associated with traditional graphite lubrication.
  • Construction: Seamless loop design (Endless Belt) minimizes joint wear and enhances operational smoothness.

Nomex® Material Heat-Resistant Felt Belt

  • Temperature Range: Withstands continuous operation up to 280°C (540°F), short-term exposure over 400°C (760°F), with some reinforced grades rated for 600°C (1160°F).
  • Material Properties: Constructed from 100% meta-aramid (Nomex) fibers, offering exceptional flame resistance, electrical insulation, and flexibility.
  • Typical Applications: Widely used in textile finishing equipment such as heat transfer machines, setting machines, and ironing machines. Also suitable for conveying aluminum materials in medium-to-high temperature zones.

Kevlar-Reinforced Felt Belt

  • Temperature Resistance: Withstands up to 480°C, approaching but slightly below the 650°C requirement threshold.
  • Material Advantages: Kevlar (para-aramid) delivers high tensile strength, making it suitable for high-load dynamic operating environments.
  • Application Limitations: For continuous operating conditions exceeding 500°C, PBO material is recommended to ensure a safety margin.

Applications of Flet conveyor belt

Aluminum Extrusion:transporting hot aluminum extrusions

Metal Stamping: Conveying sharp steel parts.

Automotive Industry: Tire and interior component handling.

Logistics: Low-noise sorting lines.

Flatwork Ironing Industry: ironing include: dehumidification – removing moisture from the linens as they pass through the ironing machine (tank ironing) or evaporating it (roller ironing)

Reference for Industrial-Grade High-Temperature Conveyor Belts

While not felt-based, certain rubber-based high-temperature conveyor belts serve as comparative references. Their cover coating withstand temperatures of 100–1200°C, utilizing EPDM rubber combined with polyester-cotton or EPDM canvas reinforcement layers. These are suitable for conveying sintered ore, clinker, and similar materials in metallurgy, cement, and related industries. However, these products typically lack the softness and scratch resistance of felt, making them unsuitable for aluminum profile conveyance requiring high surface quality.

Seamless felt conveyor belts made of PBO material are currently the only solution explicitly supporting long-term operation at 600°C. They are particularly suitable for aluminum processing lines demanding high cleanliness, scratch resistance, and continuous operation. While Nomex and Kevlar materials offer excellent performance, they fall short at extreme temperatures.

 Based on structure, felt belts can be classified into the following categories:

Single-sided felt belt: One side features a felt layer, while the other side incorporates a reinforced base fabric (such as polyester or nylon). Suitable for light-duty conveying, guiding protection, or surface protection applications, typically with a thickness ranging from 1.6–8mm.

· Double-sided felt belt: Both sides feature felt layers, providing a more uniform contact surface and superior cushioning properties. Commonly used in conveying processes requiring high surface quality protection for products like glass, aluminum profiles, textiles, etc.

·‌Endless Belt:
Features a seamless design for smooth operation and extended service life. Eliminates impact and wear at joints, making it particularly suitable for high-speed or continuous production lines.

• High-Temperature Resistant Felt Belts: Manufactured from high-performance fibers like PBO, Nomex, and Kevlar, capable of withstanding prolonged exposure to temperatures ranging from 280°C to 600°C. Widely used in thermal transfer machines, setting machines, aluminum extrusion discharge lines, and similar equipment.

• Customized Felt Belts: Supports adjustments to thickness, width, density, hardness, and jointing methods per customer specifications. Select products also offer post-processing options like laser cutting, perforation, and edge crimping to meet specialized operational requirements.

advantages of felt belts include:

Protecting the surface of conveyed items to prevent scratches;
Providing stable friction for smooth transmission;
Absorbing vibrations and impacts to enhance equipment operational stability;
Resisting high temperatures, being flame-retardant, and resisting aging to adapt to complex environments;
Offering anti-static properties;
Enabling composite use with stainless steel mesh belts, rubber belts, and other materials to enhance functionality.

FAQ of Felt conveyor belt

Polyester Felt: Up to 120℃

Nomex (Meta-Aramid): Up to 250℃

Kevlar (Para-Aramid): Up to 650℃

We recommend selecting the material based on your constant operating temperature to ensure longevity.

A: Felt belts offer a unique combination of softness and toughness. Unlike rubber, they won’t leave scuff marks on delicate surfaces. Unlike standard PVC, they are highly resistant to cuts from sharp metal edges and can handle much higher temperatures without melting.

A: For dry dust (common in paper/logistics), compressed air or vacuuming is usually sufficient. For more stubborn debris, a soft brush can be used. Avoid using harsh chemical solvents unless the belt is specifically treated for them.

A: Yes. For high-precision applications like electronics or aluminum extrusion, we provide Truly Endless (Molded) felt belts. This ensures no joint marks, uniform thickness, and maximum strength throughout the entire belt circumference.

Kevlar material can also be customized with seamless weaving technology.

Sample needs 3-5 days, mass production time needs 1-2 weeks for order quantity.

With 20 years of manufacturing experience, we understand the balance between soft protection and industrial durability.

Felt Belts: High-temperature resistant, cut-resistant, breathable, and anti-static. It is the ideal choice for the ironing industry, transporting hot aluminum extrusions, sharp metal parts or delicate electronic components.

We typically ship via DHL, UPS, FedEx, or TNT. Delivery usually takes 3-5 days. Air and sea shipping are also available.
